Auto Rental Cheaply

This is a consumer’s world of a great deal of marketing and competition amongst companies who want your dollar in all things commercial. A customer in such a situation cannot be certain that he or she has made the best deal with a company and this actually applies to the automobile rental industry.

As a consumer, you’ll need to think ahead when renting a car and you will benefit from the following tips, tricks and steps in getting the most out of your automobile rental. There are a lot of companies out there and you’ll want to do business with one that gives you the best deals in this complicated market.

1. Rent your vehicle and make your reservation over the internet. These offer the best deals and you can have the time to enquire about special deals that may apply to you. There are internet-only specials that you can only get by reserving a car through the net.

2. An important tip is for you to fill up your own tank just before returning your rental car. The gas provided by the automobile rental site is extremely expensive and you’ll wind up paying two to three times the cost of the gas you’d pay just by topping off the tank on your vehicle just before sending the vehicle back.

3.If you can, always rent at only one Car Company, companies give you cheap car rentals for frequently renting their cars, discounts, coupons and sometimes even miles.

4. Many companies will exchange frequent flyer miles with automobile rental points so if you don’t have enough frequent flyer miles for a flight or if the points are nearly expiring, you should use them instead for a discount or upgrade through the auto rental place.

5. Be sure to make your reservations as far in advance of your need as is possible. This is because many companies give discounts for those people who reserve a car far out in advance of their need.

6. Pick your car up as early in the morning as possible because you are more likely to get an upgrade then. The previous day’s economy rentals won’t be available so they’ll have to give you a better car.

7.Look for packages like hotels and rental packages or if you want a cheaper car rental find a package that includes air fare, car rental and hotel stay, these packages give you great discounts on all three, so if you’re planning to do all, I suggest you get a package deal to get the most out of your money.

8. Use a Rent at the Price you Can Pay Internet site that allows you to put in how much you are willing to pay and then matches you up with a company that has a car for that price. Check out the quality of the company before making a reservation because you won’t be able to cancel a reservation once you’ve made it.

9.If you’re going to use the car for more than five days try to find weekly rates from car rentals, with weekly rates, the sixth and seventh day are almost always discounted, so look for this when you’re out for a cheap car rental.

10. Try not to pick up the automobile at the airport because there are airport surcharges you’ll have to pay. Instead use an off-airport pickup site.
